The Phoenix Theatre is an excellent studio space for our drama work. It is well equipped and is occasionally used for showing the work of professional theatre companies.
There is another well-equipped classroom that has been fitted with portable theatre lighting.
Media Studies is taught in a well-equipped video editing suite. High quality digital editing is available to students for production work.

Drama requires people to work together. The importance of group work is crucial. Students develop performance skills by sharing practical work. They work in different styles such as scripted work or improvised. They evaluate their own and others work.
KS3
All students take drama in years 7-9. They have two lessons a fortnight in these years.
KS4

Drama is an option at GCSE in years 10-11. Students work in depth, they learn about the history of theatre and study key drama scripts.
Drama has an 81% pass rate ac A*-C GCSE. This is significantly higher than the national average.
KS5
including exam board, accreditation
Media and Drama are offered in the sixth form. Media Studies require students to analyse the mass media (film, newspapers etc). They develop knowledge of key debates and issues in the media. There is also the opportunity for project work.
Drama and Media have 100% pass rates at A2 (the full A level)
