The Governors Section
In common with other schools and colleges in the country Nicholas Chamberlaine Technology College has a Governing Body. The Governors are responsible for the strategic direction of the College in partnership with the Headteacher.
The Governing Body meets six times during the year plus additional sessions for training. Each term it receives a report from the Headteacher on the progress that the College has made. Much of the work of the Governing Body is conducted through Committees of which there are three: Finance, Personnel & Students, and Premises & Community. The Governing Body consists of seven Parent Governors, four Local Education Authority Governors, four Staff Governors and five Community Governors.
Governors are usually members of one or more committees and a number also 'link' with a particular curriculum subject, this enables them to have direct contact with staff and students and allows them to develop a detailed and personal understanding of how the college functions.
